This protest was shot back when Comunistas were Comunistas, and Marxists were just Marxists, and Socialists the same. Those were fun times, right? I miss them dearly.

As with some other Dissent shoots, there were a lot of people I had never seen and would not see again, and there were a few who were ubiquitous and central to the organizational process. We were still in Iraq when this was shot, so the anti war folks was one component. There were several other groups, the Haitian activists most notably, the above noted lefties, a Hispanic contingent for TPS (Temporary Protective Status) in the mix, and Unions. 

Obviously from all the placards, at least some sponsorship came from  Answer Coalition, an organization I don’t think I saw before or since.

 None the less, the king of organization, for events such as these was the late great Jack Lieberman. He passed away mid 2020 from complications of Covid19. I’ll point him out in one post where he’s the only subject. He will be in a lot future posts as time allows.
