As a near-geriatric, white, bald, overweight and ugly photographer, I know well the seriously misplaced stigma that such “people” must be up to something nefarious. It’s a hold-over from the pre-cell phone era. If a creep want’s blend in and get away with whatever people think folks like me are “getting away with”, a decent cellphone is probably a better choice, just sayin’.  These days, the LAST thing you need to worry about is people walking around with 1 or 2 DSLRs hanging off them with a backpack and a fanny pack obviously designed for photographers.

Now that I’ve gotten that off my back, this festival is a photographer’s dream. It’s been a while since being there, but what I found was the most amazing welcoming atmosphere for photographers, not to mention the average visitor.

Capturing the human condition is a very important part of who I am as a photographer (just in case you haven’t noticed :).
