Not too long after I moved to South Beach, I got an itch to check out Downtown Miami. I imagined it was just as beautiful as the skyscrapers that line Biscayne Bay. As I walked west and started to look around and was kind of mystified how it’s largely a hodge-podge of buildings obviously built between the 40s & 50s filled at ground level with mostly weird shops. Not at all what I envisioned.

And I fell in love! Even though there wasn’t flashy architecture and a bustling crowd of business professionals scurrying to wherever. Much slower pace, I was kind of enchanted by it. Even as that space grows a block at a time into more tall buildings. Hirise cranes dot the horizon steadily.
