Hellfire and Damnation was the prevalent Motus Operandi (unfortunately in my opinion) in the 19th Century. It was likely very hard to find a church that did little other than assure you that… you’re going to Hell. The Street Preacher movement, small though it is still prevails here and there.

I got along fine with them, I even had some theological discussions with the leader of the troupe, My policy when I’m shooting is not to be involved in what transpires, not to carry any ideology into the mix. It’s hard though. not to get to know people a little when you hang out with them over the course of 15-20 encounters. There was a sense on both parts that we had a job to do, and there was no need for interference between us.

 This afternoon at 8th Street and Ocean Drive in Lummus Park was particularly acidic.
